About QUATIC

QUATIC is a forum for disseminating advanced methods, techniques and tools for supporting quality approaches to ICT engineering and management. Practitioners and researchers are encouraged to exchange ideas and approaches on how to adopt a quality culture in ICT process and product improvement and to provide practical studies in varying contexts. Information on previous editions can be found here.

About Pisa

QUATIC 2024 will be hosted in Pisa, in the beautiful region of Tuscany in central Italy, straddling the Arno just before it empties into the Tyrrhenian Sea. Although the name of the city is associated worldwide to the image of its leaning tower, Pisa is actually an open-air museum. The monumental complex of the Piazza del Duomo, also known as ‘Piazza dei Miracoli’, has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. Visiting the city, whose Lungarni (along the Arno river) overlook precious Gothic and renaissance style buildings, you can walk among the recently discovered ancient Roman ships, visit one of Europe's most important museums of medieval art, historic palaces and religious buildings that house works of art of all ages.

Pisa is also a city of science, being world-wide renowned for its several university institutions and research centers, which have contributed to enriching it and which have their roots in distant eras. Pisa is in fact the birthplace of Galileo, Fibonacci, and many other prominent scientists.

Pisa had also a crucial role in the history of Computer Science, in Italy and in the world. The university of Pisa started the first Italian degree in Informatics in 1969, and it is in Pisa that the first Internet connection in Italy  was established  in 1986.  Hence, QUATIC could not have found another more prestigious and attractive venue for its first edition far from the Iberian peninsula.
